A UK Officer, and Publisher, Hon. Ejike Ikezuagu has asked the member of House of Representatives, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh to resign from his seat for assaulting a Bolt driver by beating in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The UK Officer further requested the “All Progressives Grand Alliance” (APGA) to suspend Alex Ikwechegh from the party for assaulting the driver.
He said, what he has done is not something expected from somebody in a position as his. “It was shocking, intimidating and a very grievous assault”.
He demonstrated an act of power intoxication by slapping the Bolt driver who had come to deliver a parcel to him.

Hon. Ejike Ikezuagu called for proper investigation by the police to bring Alex Ikwechegh to justice without delay.
He said, people like him should serve as a deterrent to others.
In a viral video circulating in the social media, Alex Ikwechegh was seen beating and molesting a Bolt driver, Steven Abuwatseya who had come to deliver a parcel to him.
According to Steve Abuwatseya, he said, when he got to the house and requested Alex Ikwechegh to come outside to receive his delivery personally and asked to be paid. Alex said, Steve has disrespected him, considering his social status as a Rep.
He was so furious, saying why should the driver, referring the driver as “stupid” and “idiot” come to his house and asks him to come outside to collect his parcel, boasting that he can make the man disappear in Nigeria and nothing will happen.
He said to the driver that he will never get a penny from him for this high level of disrespect. Saying he will suffer, and he will deal with him.
Alex boasting, asking the driver, do you know who I am, I will not even call my police, but I will tie you up, lie you up and put you in my generator house.
After threatening Steven, he landed two slaps on the driver, but the driver kept silent and did nothing.
The video sparked widespread outrage across the social media, and Nigerians demanding justice for the driver.
Alex Mascot Ikwechegh hails from Igbere, Bende Local Government Area. He is a politician and businessman. He graduated from the University of Calabar.
At 28, he became the youngest politically elected Chairman in Nigeria. He was the Chairman Aba North LGA.
In October 2024, he assaulted a Bolt driver by beating, who had come to deliver a parcel to him.
