Across Nigeria, millions of MTN subscribers are reporting the same painful experience of unexplained data depletion, sudden airtime deductions, inflated call rates, activation of unsolicited services, hidden charges, unstable network quality, and a complete lack of transparent billing.
For years, these issues have persisted without meaningful accountability, leaving consumers frustrated, financially exploited, and unheard.
The “Centre for Democratic Accountability” (CDA), a diaspora‑led Non‑Profit Organisation has now stepped forward to change that narrative.
CDA has launched a National Complaint Form designed specifically for MTN subscribers who have suffered any form of unfair billing or network‑related exploitation.
This initiative is part of a nationwide effort to compile a comprehensive report for submission to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the regulatory body responsible for protecting consumers in the telecom sector.

Telecommunication services are no longer a luxury; they are essential for work, education, business, security, and daily life. When a major operator like MTN engages in practices that drain data without explanation, deduct airtime without consent, or activate services without approval, it is not just an inconvenience, it is a violation of consumer rights.
CDA’s intervention aims to ensure that Nigerians are not left alone in this struggle. By collecting verified complaints directly from subscribers, CDA will produce a national evidence‑based report that reflects the true scale of the problem.

CDA is calling on all MTN users across Nigeria to fill and submit the CDA National Complaint Form, especially if they have experienced any of the following, unexplained or rapid data depletion, airtime deductions without permission, activation of unsolicited services, hidden charges or forced subscriptions, inflated call rates, unstable or unreliable network, lack of transparent billing or unclear deductions, subscribers are encouraged to upload any supporting documents, including screenshots, receipts, transaction history, SMS notifications, or data usage records. Every submission strengthens the national report and increases the pressure for regulatory action.
