Speaking in London to members of Imo State Progressives for Change 2027, Hon. Ikezuagu asserted, “Imo State needs a capable hand to lift the state to the next level of development, and that hand is Chief Charles Orie.” He emphasized that the people of Imo State deserve a leader who not only understands their challenges but remains steadfast in seeking solutions.

Chief Orie, renowned for his people-oriented approach and responsiveness to the concerns of citizens, has positively impacted countless lives both within and beyond the state.

During his tenure as Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC), he championed human capital development, equipped individuals with essential skills, and provided vital infrastructure and amenities to numerous communities. Despite limited funding, his achievements as ISOPADEC director are visibly evident across the state, bearing testimony to his dedication and resourcefulness.

Hon. Ikezuagu further highlighted Chief Orie’s habit of intervening personally whenever he encountered suffering or hardship among the people, often using his own resources to provide relief. He described Chief Orie as a man of purpose, an invaluable asset to Imo State, capable of harnessing both natural and human resources for the collective benefit of all.

“We have thrown our weight to back Chief Charles Orie if he (Chief Orie) accepts to contest for Imo state governor in 2027”, Hon. Ejike Ikezuagu said.

In conclusion, the endorsement from diaspora leaders and the widespread recognition of Chief Orie’s track record of service lend significant weight to the growing movement urging him to contest the Imo State governorship in 2027. Such a candidacy, backed by both local and international supporters, could set a new benchmark for transformative leadership and inclusive progress in the state’s future, Hon. Ikezuagu said.
