UK: Owerri-Zone, And Other Zones In Imo State Endorsed Hon. Uche Onyeagocha For The Senate.

The people of Owerri-Zone in Imo state residing in the United Kingdom, and various individuals from different zones in the state, earlier this week in London endorsed Hon. Uche Onyeagocha for the Senate to represent the Imo East Senatorial Zone (Owerri-Zone) in the forthcoming senatorial election in Nigeria in 2023, Ogene Ndigbo Newspaper has gathered.

The meeting was in attendance with various dignitaries from the nine local governments in Owerri-Zone in the state, and friends who attended to express their unalloyed support to the former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) to the former Imo state governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

The Nine (9) local governments in the zone that collectively endorsed Hon. Onyeagocha are: Owerri-North, Owerri-West, Owerri-Municipal, Ngor Okpoala, Mbaitolu, Ikeduru, Ezinihite Mbaise, Ahiazu-Mbaise and Abo Mbaise.

The meeting was fully attended by various individuals with different backgrounds and professions to place their endorsement after a thorough verification of character and track records of all the contestants for the position in the zone. A cross section of Igbo dignitaries and notable individuals from other zones in the state joined the group to endorse the former SSG.

The leader of the group, and General-Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK, Chief Uche Benmark Osuigwe (Agu Udo) who is the Director, Onyeagocha Diaspora Campaign expressed his gratitude for the supports and endorsements by the people of the zone and friends who showed their supports, despite their different political party affiliations.

Chief Osuigwe said to the gathering that they have made a wise decision, devoid of party affiliation to support Hon. Onyeagocha.

In his statement, Chief Osuigwe released what he called the “Strategy of 1 to 10” to achieve their aim in ensuring Hon. Onyeagocha wins in the election.

While addressing the people, he said, “1 to 10 means for the people to begin to make calls to ten people each who believe in them and  have been relating with them in one way, or the other”.

He said, “continue to tell them to vote for (Hon. Uche Onyeagocha) of the PDP in the forthcoming National Assembly election, and asked them to vote their choice candidate in the Presidency. He told them to charge their ten people to get their own ten people each”.

He continued, stating that as the leader of the group, he will represent 17 votes from his own loyalists across the zone, the General-Secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK, Chief Osuigwe maintained.

Dignitaries from other zones in the state who attended the event were, Chief Barr. Chibuzo Ubochi, the President, Imo Citizens UK, Chief Chukwuma Obidike Esq, and other notable individuals across the state.
