Since Tuesday last week, Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s trial started at the Old Bailey Crown Court London, political friends, relatives, and colleagues from Nigeria and United Kingdom who want to witness the trial have turned the place a meeting point to express sympathy to the sinking senator who was accused of human trafficking since last June.

Chief Osita Chidoka, the former Nigerian Aviation Minister, and one time Nigeria Road Safety Chief Executive flew from Nigeria to the United Kingdom to sympathise with the senator and his family.

Senator Ike Ekweremadu is always brought to court from the prison, while his wife, Beatrice and the daughter, Miss Sonia were off bailers – they have been bailed, and always come to the court from home. Miss Sonia remains in dialysis.

Chief Chidoka, visited the senator at the prison to sympathise with him, both have private discussions, but the content of the discussion was not made available to Ogene Ndigbo Newspaper.

When Chief Chidoka was asked to be interviewed by the press on camera at the Old Bailey Crown Court, the former Aviation Minister, declined.

When asked by the press, on his thoughts over the hearing in the court, he weakly nodded his head in disbelief, and said, “it is a difficult one to call”.

Chief Chidoka was seen in front of the Old Bailey Crown Court with the family, Mrs Beatrice Ikweremadu, 56, and Sonia, 25, greeting.
