A group in diaspora, Imo Citizens UK has recently advised the Imo state governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma to avoid making the mistake made by the former governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. The group advised Chief Hope Uzodinma never to toe on the path as Ihedioha. The group said, Ihedioha ignored Imolites living in diaspora, but only appointed Mazi Enyinna Amadikwa as the DG Imo State Bureau of Statistics. They regretted that the governor failed in employing many others in diaspora that have the requisite skills and technical know-how to develop the state.
In their advice to the governor, they said, the diasporas have highly skilled professionals that can transform the state, if given the opportunity to do so. They requested the governor to employ Imolites in diaspora to assist in developing the state.
In a swift reaction to this development, the Spokesman, Imo state stakeholders UK/Ireland, Hon. Ejike Ikezuagu while expressing his pleasure for the group, Imo Citizens UK for being a non-partisan organisation for the people of Imo state in the UK, he encouraged them to keep the stand. According to him, he said, Imo Citizens UK sent a congratulatory message to Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha when he appointed Enyinnaya Amadikwa as the DG Bureau of Statistics.
Mazi Enyinna Amadikwa.
In the same vein, the Spokesman, Imo state stakeholders UK, Ejike Ikezuagu requested the group to blame Mazi Enyinna Amadikwa for making it look as if the governor ignored Imolites in the UK. He said, “Ihedioha didn’t ignore Imolites in the UK, but Mazi Enyinna Amadikwa was responsible for the mess for not doing his job, and not Ihedioha.
He said Ihedioha appointed Mazi Amadikwa to integrate vast majority of highly skilled individuals to assist in developing the state, but Mazi Amadikwa woefully failed in that responsibility to employ the Imolites in the UK. He said, “that is what you get when you have a novice operating in a system that is very strange to him, absolutely inexplicable”. Amadikwa failed and rejected Imolites in the UK with a position given to him to integrate Imolites living in the UK to bring their skills to develop the state.
He said Mazi Enyinnaya Amadikwa is a “pure disappointment” to the people of Imo state in the UK. He was the wrong person to have being sent to the governor to represent the people of the state in the UK, it was “ very unfortunate” Ejike Ikezuagu said.
He said, it wasn’t the fault of the ex-governor.
He said, when the governor was in the UK during the campaign, Imolites in the UK had a meeting with him and presented him Mazi Enyinna Amadikwa to work with him and through him to integrate the Imolites in the UK to assist in developing the state, but Enyinna failed in all ramifications to execute as said when the appointment was given to him, rather he turned against all the Imolites in the UK. He described Enyinna Amadikwa as a man of “greed” and one who doesn’t know what government is all about. He was a disaster.
He said, “it is very, very unfortunate to have sent someone like Mazi Amadikwa” and he advised the Imo state governor, Chief Hope Uzodinma to employ Imolites in the UK in his government to assist in the development of the state.
According to Hon. Ikezuagu, he said, he will be calling a meeting of Imolites in the UK soon to draft a way forward for them in order to avoid individuals as Mazi Enyinna Amadikwa in truncating the future of the state by placing a barrier that will make it impossible for Imolites in the UK to contribute in building the state.
